I met sandy when she
started working for Albertsons. The service deli was always in need of
extra help, if Sandy was available I would always schedule her during the
shifts I worked. We talked and talked she was a great listener and always had
great advice. Her knowledge of so much was incredible, I always related that to being a parent and having to answer
the WHY questions so many times when the children and grand children were
small. She knew a little about everything. My favorite stories were of course the animal stories. Sandy was an incredible
animal lover. I remember the story she told about her and Norm driving
late one night on the outskirts of town and Sandy seeing a small scruffy
animal, she bugged Norm until he turned the car around and went back. The
small animal was a dog. The fur was so matted and the hair was completely
covering the eyes, the smell was deadly, but Sandy picked the dog up and she
rode many miles to their home on the lap of Sandy,
stinky and dirty. Late into the evening already, Sandy had the dog bathed and trimmed with a nice
clean spot to sleep before she would rest herself for the night. The next day
Sandy made phone calls and left information
about the found dog, low and behold the owner called a few days later and
the two were reunited. The owner didn't recognize the dog because of the
love Sandy had invested in it. Pure Love. We all know
this is the love of life that Sandy has passed down to her children and grand
children. I knew the day I handed " The Girls" Thelma and Louise off
to Sandy ( I had a litter of 4 pups) I could have never ask for a better
mommy for my " grand pups". Just knowing they would have the love and
spoiling from and incredible lady made it that much easier to let them go. Sandy
my dear friend I will cherish the stories you have told and miss not hearing
new ones. Thank you for being a part of our lives.
