When the phone rang at 5:40 am Tuesday  June 19th, I never thought it would be Norm telling us the unexpected news of Sandy's passing. I was totally in shock and disbelief, as was my whole family when I told them the sad news.

Sandy was our (vicina di casa) neighbor and good friend. Since we met Sandy & Norm we bonded not only as neighbors but as friends. They were included in many of our family gatherings. They both shared their birthdays with my older niece. Like typical neighbors we borrowed "sugar" or whatever else we were out of. We were there for each other.

Sandy & Norm were my Mom's (Lidia) card playing buddies. On many a Sunday, they would come over and play Rummy. Norm always seemed to win, even though he claimed that he hadn't played for 20 years......Sandy was learning Italian thru tapes she would listen to in her car, for a while she and Norm were coming over and they would have an Italian lesson from my Mom. Sandy was becoming very good. My Mom and Sandy also went to play Bingo together and once or twice I joined them too.

To get to our condominium, we need to pass in from of Sandy & Norm's, I tell you it is not easy. Every time we go by our hearts go out to Sandy and her family. We expect to see her coming around the corner at any moment.  Needless to say she will be thought of fondly and will be missed greatly.

God Bless You, Sandy.

Love from all of us:
